Malwarebytes is one of our favorite programs. We recommend it to all of our clients who don’t already have it.

After you have installed Malwarebytes, here are some of the typical settings we use:

• Change the update frequency to REAL TIME or HOURLY.
• Uncheck SHOW TOOLTIP BALLOONS so it doesn’t annoy you.
• Add a scheduled SCAN that scans with a FREQUENCY of DAILY.
• Choose a convenient time for the daily scans so it won’t interrupt you.
• Check WAKE COMPUTER FROM SLEEP so it can scan while YOU are asleep.
• Check PERFORM SCHEDULED TASK SILENTLY so the program doesn’t pop up while you’re “working”.
• Check REMOVE AND QUARANTINE THREATS AUTOMATICALLY. Why would you want to keep them around anyway?
