CamCard is the perfect solution for managing business cards.
CamCard App Review Video Below
If you are a business person who tends to collect lots of business cards, you know where they usually end up. Really, how many people put those cards into some kind of file system or Rolodex? Hardly any. The cards end up in a huge business card pile in a shoebox somewhere, or most likely, the trash. That’s probably the same place your card ends up when you give it to someone too.
Even if you are one of the people who saves all of the business cards you get from others, you know how long it takes to find the card that you got from that person last year. Ideally, all of those cards could be organized using some kind of database where you could easily look someone up, know where they work, what their contact info is, where and when you met and other notes to help you remember the initial meeting.
If you’ve acted upon our recommendation to use GMail as your primary email service, you will know how well search works. There’s hardly a need to organize emails into folders because you can just search for some keywords and you are likely to find the email fairly quickly. Knowing that, doesn’t it make sense to have your collected business cards in a place that can be just as easily searched and sorted?
That’s exactly what CamCard does. It is an app for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android that allows you to scan a business card into a searchable system using your mobile device’s camera. It uses optical character recognition (OCR) to turn the text on the card to digital text on your phone and computer. Once the card has been scanned, you can synchronize your cards on the cloud using Google Contacts – part of Gmail – or by logging on to CamCard’s website and managing your cards there.

This is a useful app for people who tend to do a lot of networking. It is useful for salespeople who need to remember who they’ve contacted and whether the lead was warm and whether they should follow up.
